ZoomDH – Universal IR Air Conditioner v2026102806
Overview
Controls infrared air conditioners from Crestron Home through an IR gateway on the network. It uses the same ZoomDH IR code library as the Control4 driver ZoomDH Universal Virtual Thermostat IR: the integrator picks the brand and model on screen and the driver downloads the codes.
- One driver per IR gateway; each air conditioner becomes a thermostat in Crestron Home (up to 16 per gateway).
- Power, mode (cool, heat, auto, dry, fan, depending on the model), fan speed, setpoint and swing.
- Extra remote functions (turbo, eco, display, etc.) when the model has them.
- Models with a toggle-only power code (power macro) and models with separate swing on/off code sets.
- Codes and state are saved on the processor: after a restart the driver keeps working even without internet.
- Screen texts in Portuguese or English.
Infrared has no feedback, so the state shown is the last command sent by Crestron Home. Changes made with the unit's own remote are not seen by the system.
Prerequisites
- Crestron Home 4-Series processor (MC4, CP4-R, etc.).
- One of the supported IR gateways, with a fixed or DHCP-reserved IP:
- Home Manager IR Pro and IR+RF Pro (TCP port 29090, outputs 1 to 8).
- ControlArt 7Port (outputs 1 to 7 and blaster 8), 4Port / 7Port Mini (1 to 3), 7Port Serial and xPort Pro (2 to 7 and blaster 8). TCP port 4998.
- Internet access from the processor on the first setup, to download the model list and the codes (zoomdigitalhome.com.br).
- IR emitter placed in front of each air conditioner's receiver.
The Home Manager Smart Center is not listed because it accepts a single connection: in projects with a Smart Center, create the air conditioners on the Smart Center and use the ZoomDH Smart Center driver for Crestron Home.
Installation
- Copy ZoomDH_Universal_IR_Thermostat.pkg to the processor folder
user/ThirdPartyDrivers/Import(SFTP, port 22, Crestron Home admin user). - In the Crestron Home Setup app, under Pair Devices > Drivers, add ZOOM Digital Home Universal IR Thermostat.
- Choose the gateway and fill in the IP, number of units and the other fields (see Configuration).
- Check that the driver page shows Connected and that the code library shows the number of models.
- Place each air conditioner in its room and choose the brand and model (see Choosing the model).
For more than one gateway, add the driver once per gateway.

The driver keeps the gateway connection alive and reconnects within 5 seconds if it drops. There is a 250 ms pause between IR codes.
IR outputs
With IR Outputs empty, the first air conditioner uses the gateway's first output, the second uses the second, and so on: outputs 1, 2, 3... on Home Manager and ControlArt 7Port/4Port, and outputs 2, 3, 4... on 7Port Serial and xPort Pro (output 1 of those models is the serial port).
Use the numbers printed on the gateway. On ControlArt, output 8 is the blaster. An output the chosen gateway does not have is shown as Invalid IR output on the unit's setup page, and nothing is sent.
Choosing the model
- Open the driver page (IR Air Conditioners) and scroll to Air conditioner model. In Air conditioner, choose which unit to set up.
- Choose the Brand, then the Model. Brands with a single model load it right away.
- Wait for Codes loaded. The unit's page then shows the model's modes, fan speeds and setpoint.
In the same section, for the chosen unit (the unit page keeps only the controls, for the user):
- IR codes / Reload: downloads the model's codes again (when ZoomDH updates the library). When the chosen model has new codes, the section shows New code version: tap Reload.
- IR output: picks the gateway output used by this unit (overrides the IR Outputs setting). Below it, the Last command sent.
- Hide heat: removes the heat modes for cool-only units that use a heat/cool remote.
- Send power on first: sends the power-on code before the mode code, for units that do not turn on with the mode code alone.
If the unit's model is not listed, contact ZoomDH support: new models are added to the library without a driver update (tap Refresh on the driver page's code library).
Air conditioner page
- Thermostat: setpoint (shown while the unit is on, in modes that use a temperature). Quick repeated taps become a single code.
- Mode: icon buttons for each mode of the model, with Off last. The active mode is lit and the others dimmed; tapping a mode turns the unit on in it.
- Fan: buttons for the model's fan speeds (hidden when the model has only one).
- Swing: only on models with swing codes.
- Extra functions and Send: additional remote codes (turbo, eco, display...).
While the unit is off, changing the fan or swing only stores the choice, which is sent with the next power on.
Driver page
- Status: gateway connection and last error.
- IR gateway: model, IP and port, with a Reconnect button.
- Code library: number of available models and a Refresh button (downloads the list again).
- License: status and a Check button.

A mode the model does not have is ignored.
Troubleshooting

| "Offline, retrying in 5 s" | Check the gateway type, IP and port, and that the processor reaches the gateway. Close other programs connected to the gateway. |
| Code library shows "Download failed" | The processor cannot reach the internet or zoomdigitalhome.com.br. Allow access and tap Refresh. |
| "Download not allowed: check the license" | The code library trial is over and there is no valid license. Enter or check the key in License Key and tap Refresh. Units with codes already loaded keep working. |

The driver log (err on the processor SSH console) shows connections, codes sent and errors (in Portuguese).
Licensing
The driver runs for 30 days as a trial. After that, a license key must be entered in License Key. One license covers one driver (one gateway and all its units). Without a valid license the driver stays connected but does not send commands. Licenses can be per processor or per driver instance.
