This driver integrates Midea VRF split systems with Control4 directly over the XYE RS485 bus, using only an RS485/RS232 adapter and no special Midea device.
The driver scans the indoor units and creates a connection for each one; each unit is controlled by the ZoomDH Universal HVAC Indoor Unit driver, with two-way control and feedback.
Installation
- Make sure the indoor units are correctly identified and addressed
- Make the RS-232 connection between the Control4 controller and the RS485/RS232 adapter
- Connect the RS485 side of the adapter to the XYE bus: X ↔ A, Y ↔ B, E ↔ GND
- Connect the adapter power supply
- In Composer, bind the Midea VRF driver to the RS232 port; the driver will scan the indoor units
- Install a ZoomDH Universal HVAC Indoor Unit driver for each unit found
- Adjust the modes, fan and temperatures of each unit as desired
